Eight Years Old Times
Ten
words & music J. D. Haring
Born when time stood still and life was long.
When seasons were the only thing that changed.
And the order of the universe was naturally arranged,
In the melody and words of a childhood song.
Torn between the city and the farm.
Time it was and time it was to grow.
If ever times were hard & things were bad it didn't show.
An eight year old was cradled in your arms.
Chorus Eight years old forever then,
eight years old today.
The child inside has always tried
To come outside and play.
And what you are today,
is what you've always been.
And I hope I find the same in me,
So someday I'll wake up to be, like you,
Just eight years old times ten.
You've always been the first to lend a hand.
A
way of love that everyone should know.
And the gifts that you received have been
the gifts that you bestow.
Generous the heart that love commands
ŠJ.
